Privacy & important information

Company information, the distinction between JJR’s businesses and Jonathan’s separate activities, and how this website handles visits and enquiries.

Website visits

This static site has no account system, submission form, advertising pixels or analytics code. The enquiry selector only prepares an email link in your browser; it does not transmit your choices to JJR. The site’s own code does not set tracking cookies; optional YouTube playback is described below.

Using an email link opens your own email application. Your email provider handles the message when you choose to send it. The copy-address button uses your browser’s clipboard permission where available. Images and fonts are hosted with the site rather than requested from third-party font services.

The public website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser details and access times to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing practices.

Optional YouTube videos

The archive videos use locally hosted thumbnails. No YouTube player is loaded until you select “Load archive video” or “Load interview video”. That action loads YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, which may process your IP address, device details and viewing activity under Google’s privacy terms. Privacy-enhanced playback is not a guarantee of no data collection.

You can close each player to stop playback and remove it from the page, or use its direct link to watch on YouTube instead. See Google’s privacy policy for details.

Business enquiries

JJR Holdings Limited is responsible for personal information supplied in enquiries addressed to JJR. Jonathan receives these at jonathan@easternvideo.co.uk. This notice covers initial JJR enquiries; a subsequent relationship with a separate business may be subject to that business’s own privacy information.

An enquiry may contain your name, email address, organisation, role, contact details and any information you choose to include. We use it to consider and respond to your enquiry and manage relevant business discussions. This is for our legitimate interests in handling business enquiries; steps towards a requested contract or legal obligations may provide other applicable grounds.

Keep initial messages brief and do not include sensitive personal information or confidential technical material. Information may need to be handled by email and hosting providers, relevant people dealing with the enquiry, or professional advisers where necessary. Service providers may process information outside Guernsey; contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.

Enquiry records are retained for as long as needed to handle the discussion and any resulting relationship, taking account of applicable legal, accounting or dispute-related requirements. There is no single retention period for every enquiry. You can ask us about retention or request deletion using the contact below.

Your privacy questions and rights

Contact Jonathan at jonathan@easternvideo.co.uk, or write to the registered office above, about access, correction, deletion, objection or other rights that may apply to your information. Rights depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

You can also raise a concern with Guernsey’s Office of the Data Protection Authority. Its information for individuals explains rights and how to make a complaint.

External sites

Links to operating businesses, publication records and other organisations open external websites. Those websites apply their own terms and privacy practices; a link is not an endorsement.

Businesses and separate activities

JJR owns Extreme Video, Epic EV Studios, EVM and EV Canopy. Eastern Video began as Jonathan’s sole-trader business; JJR Properties is his separate sole-trading property portfolio. EV Offshore / EV is a historical founder case study, not a current holding.

The EV case study does not imply a current corporate affiliation between JJR and Enersol or EV, ownership of their intellectual property, or permission to license their technology. Jonathan’s later contract work is distinct from corporate ownership.
